Every so often, it's a good idea to clean the settings in your Chrome browser, to rid yourself of bad extensions, cookies, and other detritus accumulated through browsing over time.
Because Chrome gets updated by Google every few weeks, these instructions might become dated very quickly. However, the basic principles should apply for some time.
To clean out your settings, click on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser screen. Choose 'Settings' from the drop down menu.
Once inside 'Settings', look for an 'Advanced' option. This 'Advanced' option should give you access to a menu called 'Reset and clean up', where you can restore your settings to their original defaults.
Doing this every so often can keep your copy of Chrome running smoothly.
Check out this video linked below for a slightly dated instructional video through the process.
